We would like to apologize for any inconvenience caused by the COVID-19 measures. The country-wide issued state of emergency was lifted on May 25, and the Tokyo alert that followed was lifted on June 12. In accordance with the state and prefectural government, Hachijo Town relaxed its measures on June 19.
However, in the anticipation of an extended need for measures against COVID-19, the town has created guidelines called
“The New Lifestyle” covering the suggested safe behavior during these times.
It is imperative to keep in mind the island’s limited environment and the fragility of the medical system, and to understand that the care of the infected ones on the island is beyond comparison to the mainland’s capability.
We ask for your understanding and cooperation in protecting the island and each other from the COVID-19, and hope the new guidelines will come in useful.
